My martial arts career started in 2000 when I began learning Kick Boxing, which I practised for 5 years. During that time I completed all the gradings to black belt. I also participated in full contact contests. Whilst improving my fighting capabilities in Kick Boxing, I realised a weakness in my skills for close quarter fighting and I was advised to study Wing Chun. In 2005 I commenced my Wing Chun training under Sifu Garry McKenzie.

I have been training for over 11 years and have completed the Wing Chun system under the close guidance of Sifu Garry. This has now led me to become an assistant instructor at my Sifu's school. I have assisted my Sifu in seminars and workshops both in the UK and in Norway at our Norwegian branch. In 2008 I travelled with my Sifu to Hong Kong and China, where I had the good fortune to meet with my Si Gung Ip Ching, Grandmaster Ip Chun, the late Grand Master Tsui Sheung Tin, Grand Master Wan Kam Leung and Sifu Patrick Leung.

In 2013 my Sifu Garry McKenzie permitted me to take on private students. This new phase of teaching has led to me opening my own branch of the Wing Chun School, based in Walthamstow.
